Looking for a Black Friday deal on a tablet computer at a deep discount? There’s plenty of them out there but you might just want to wait to look for an even better deal.

black friday tablet dealsDespite an overwhelming number of retailers slashing prices on tablet computers, in-store Black Friday sales of tablet computers have been sluggish at best.

Although the Apple iPad remains pretty much unchallenged in the tablet market, Android tablets by Motorola, Samsung, Asus and Acer have been rounding out the market.

Sales numbers for RIM’s Blackberry Playbook are ndiciative of the fact that Blackberry tablets are just not a force to be reckoned with. Rounding out the bottom of the tablet computer market, Windows based tablets might seem to be the equivalent of a lump of coal in the Christmas stocking for most tablet shopping consumers.

One significant factor attributing to the sluggish in-store sales of tablet computers this Black Friday is the obvious fact that many consumers will ordering their tablets online, namely Amazon’s kindle Fire.

For consumers looking to score a deal on a tablet computer, Best Buy has a number of deals like the Asus Transformer 10.1″ Wi-Fi Tablet for $249.99 and the Toshiba Thrive 10.1″ Android Tablet for $279.99 (both excellent deals).

Office Depot has the Lenovo IdeaPad K1 10.1″ Android 32GB Tablet for $299 and the BlackBerry PlayBook 7″ 16GB Tablet slashed to $199.

Staples is offering the Acer Iconia 10.1″ Android 16GB Tablet for $299.00 (a steal for this excellent tablet) and the Blackberry Playbook 32GB Tablet $249.00.

Even Walmart is jumping into the fray by offering the Amazon Kindle Fire Android Tablet for $199.

BUT, don’t run out thinking you’re going to get the best deal on Black Friday. Expect even further price slashing in the weeks leading up to Christmas as retailers gear up to move out stockpiled inventory.

My bf got me a Kindle Fire for my birthday and I love it. It’s lightweight and easy to use straight out of the box. The first thing I recommend anyone with a new Kindle do is install the nook app. We got our instructions through google. It basically unlocks all the Android marketplace apps and unlocks the device. Super happy!
